Decoding the mechanics of European power

With Power, Contexte offers a strategic perspective on European decision-making, focusing on the balance of power between EU institutions, political alliances, and key actors capable of influencing compromises in a factual and in-depth manner. The goal: to understand not just what is decided in Brussels, but how and why.

Subscribers will have access to a daily newsletter (Briefing), as well as in-depth analyses and editorial resources, such as organisational charts and infographics.

The editorial team includes five journalists (Sean Carroll, Sophie Dupuy, Anna Hubert, Clothilde Goujard, and Louise Guillot) supported by two adaptation editors (Florence Autret, Lola Boom) under the direction of Anca Gurzu, EU Managing Editor, in coordination with Thierry Dupont, France Managing Editor, and Jean-Sébastien Lefebvre, Brussels Editor-in-Chief.

New tech features for professionals

Contexte is also launching three new features designed to meet the needs of European public affairs professionals:‍

• Transcripts: The European version of its automatic transcription tool, this feature converts debates into text. Reports are available just one hour after the event, facilitating analysis and rapid extraction of key information.‍
• Keyword alerts: Following a successful beta phase, this monitoring tool allows users to set alerts for specific keywords in European official documents (Commission proposals, Parliamentary committee reports, etc.), ensuring they never miss strategic information.‍
• Focus: Thematic pages serving as a central entry point for each legislative file, bringing together briefings, related articles, key metadata and official documents in one place, saving subscribers valuable time and making ongoing tracking significantly easier.
