Contexte announces a significant strengthening of its European political coverage with the recruitment of three new team members and an internal move within its Brussels newsroom. These developments are part of the outlet’s European growth strategy and come as it prepares to launch, on 3 March, its second vertical aimed at a European audience: Power.
Clothilde Goujard joined the EU politics team last week, where she works alongside Sean Carroll, Sophie Dupuy and Louise Guillot. Formerly a senior tech reporter at POLITICO, she brings extensive expertise in EU policymaking and technology, further strengthening coverage of European political affairs.
Anna Hubert, who has been an Energy reporter at Contexte for the past six years, has also joined the team, contributing to expanded coverage of European political and institutional developments.
'We truly have a power team in place! Anna and Clothilde — both great scoop hunters — have a proven ability to navigate complex EU policymaking and explain it clearly. Their arrival strengthen our capacity to deliver reporting that goes beyond the headlines and help readers follow how decisions are really made.' — Anca Gurzu, Managing Editor, Power
Contexte is also reinforcing its editorial team with the arrival of Florence Autret and Lola Boom as adaptation editors.
Florence Autret brings over 20 years of experience covering EU affairs from Brussels for international outlets including L’Agefi, La Tribune and La Tribune de Genève. She is also the author of essays on transatlantic relations and European politics. She will contribute her deep understanding of European policymaking and multilingual editorial coordination.
Lola Boom joins from POLITICO, where she worked as a producer overseeing the digital publication, occasionally supporting the breaking news desk and working on print design.
Florence and Lola will play a central role in developing a new model of multilingual journalism. They will ensure that Contexte’s European readers have access to the best analysis produced by its French-language newsroom — and vice versa — while adapting content to meet the expectations of different audiences.
'These new arrivals are the result of several months of intense work. Each individual’s expertise will add to that of our existing teams and will allow us to launch, in the coming weeks, our second vertical aimed at a European audience, Power. Just a few months after 'Energy' this new development reflects our long-term ambition to build a multicultural newsroom, capable of working in two languages toward a shared goal: producing high-quality European journalism, as we have been doing for the past 13 years.' — Jean-Sébastien Lefebvre, Editor-in-chief, Brussels
Ahead of its launch, Contexte is offering readers an exclusive preview of Power, with a curated selection of content delivered weekly — plus a 15-day free trial.
